2011 AAHPSSS Conference, University of Canterbury

Dates: Friday 1 July to Sunday 3 July, 2011.

Cancelled due to Christchurch Earthquake

The 2011 Australasian Association for the History, Philosophy and Social Studies of Science (AAHPSSS) conference that was to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand 1-3 July has had to be reconsidered because of the 22 February 2011 Christchurch earthquake. This cancellation decision has been taken because Christchurch was hit badly by its 22 February 2011 earthquake, causing not only widespread tragedy but continuing disruption to the city and of the operation of the University of Canterbury, and because, moreover, the earth keeps shaking here (we only hope in overall diminishing degree). A brief reassuring mention is possibly also needed, that Dunedin, and the University of Otago, are wholly unaffected by the shaking of Canterbury. The University-of-Otago-hosted, Dunedin, New Zealand 2011 Australasian Association of Philosophy (AAP) conference 3-8 July is very much ON and is very much looked forward to.
